Virginia Eye Consultants – Celebrating 50 Years!

This year, Virginia Eye Consultants celebrates 50 years of providing world-class eye procedures in Hampton Roads.

The practice was established in 1963 by John W. Dickerson, Norfolk’s first ophthalmic pathologist and oculoplastic surgeon. In 1979 Dr. Bruce I. Bodner joined Dr. Dickerson, adding his corneal specialty expertise to the practice and founding the Lions Eye Bank of Eastern Virginia. Over the years, we’ve grown in both size and reputation, bringing industry-leading techniques and technology to our Norfolk and Hampton locations.

Our doctors at Virginia Eye Consultants have established a national profile as ophthalmic opinion leaders, as well as an international reputation for their commitment to teaching, research and surgery.

The mission of Virginia Eye Consultants is to provide world class specialty eye care by leaders in innovation and education using state of the art technology.
