This year Virginia Eye Consultants celebrates its 50th anniversary of providing world class specialty eye care in Norfolk. In recognition of this significant milestone, the doctors and staff will provide 50 charitable eye procedures during 2013 to members of the community who are un- or under-insured and for whom paying for treatment is a financial hardship.
The campaign is called “50-for-50” and the practice is partnering with area optometric doctors to identify candidates for the free procedures. Local civic and non-profit groups, as well as the general public are also encouraged to nominate likely candidates. Nominations are accepted online at: virginiaeyeconsultants.com. Submissions are being accepted through March 31, 2013.
The “50-fo-50″ effort is our way of giving back to the community that has provided us so much support over the past 50 years.
If you know someone who is in need of an eye procedure, please nominate them using the form here: https://www.virginiaeyeconsultants.com/50-for-50/.
Keep in mind, we don’t provide optometry services such as contacts and glasses; our 50-for-50 campaign is for those needing complex eye care. Examples might include cornea transplants, glaucoma or cataract surgery, or someone with eye disease or trauma.
Virginia Eye Consultants doctors will treat 50-for-50 patients at the state-of-the-art eye care facility off Military Highway in Norfolk.
