Restylane®

restylane logoOne of the latest dermal fillers to be introduced to the cosmetic injectable market is the remarkable FDA-approved Restylane®. Restylane® is probably the most exciting non-surgical advancement in facial rejuvenation to date.

While BOTOX® Cosmetic receives rave reviews for smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, only a dermal filler such as collagen, JUVÉDERM® , Restylane® or RADIESSE® can fill in these areas of concern. The most frequent areas for injection include the lines running from the nose to the mouth (nasolabial folds) and for lip enhancement. In most patients as they age, the lips tend to shrink, and the borders of the mouth, which function like a frame, tend to lose definition. In time, tiny vertical lines (lipstick lines) appear. Sometimes, the corners of the mouth turn down, giving the face a sad appearance.

Deep glabellar lines (the lines between the eyebrows) are also an ideal area for treatment with fillers. Men as well as women appreciate the improvement in this area of the face after their Restylane® treatments. Restylane® results typically last 6 to 8 months, as compared to the more familiar “collagen injections”, which generally last 3 to 4 months before reapplication is needed.

Restylane® Advantages

What are the advantages of using hyaluronic acid injections (Restylane®) versus collagen injections? The Answer; Restylane® is a non-animal derived product. This limits any risk of allergic reaction, plus Restylane® tends to have pleasing results for the patient that last much longer than collagen. When you come in for your consultation, Dr. Joly will discuss the advantages of Restylane® and the other cosmetic injectables offered at Renew Aesthetic Center. He will also introduce you to other treatments and procedures available to help you achieve a younger looking, more refreshed you!
