Jean Spiars scored free LASIK from Virginia Eye Consultants at the Norfolk Tides this summer and couldn’t be happier now she’s #LivingLasikLife on the field and at home. Jean plays in the Norfolk Women’s Rugby League and has a three-year-old son.
“I won’t have to make sure to bring my glasses, extra contacts and solution to my rugby games anymore! It really is a game changer.”
She was nervous the day of her surgery, but Dr. Scoper walked her through everything and made her very comfortable with the procedure.
“You know they are touching your eyes but you don’t feel anything. The procedure went without a hitch and I was able to see right afterwards.”
When she got home, she took a nap. When she woke up a few hours later, she felt great.
“AJ, my three-year-old son, asked me the first day where my glasses were and told me I needed to put them on. I had to explain to him that I didn’t need them anymore.”
At her one day post-op appointment, she could see 20/15 and, at her one month follow up, her vision was 20/20 in her right eye and 20/15 in her left.
“It’s crazy not having to think about putting my glasses on or my contacts in. I just wake up and go about my day.”
