Getting to Know Dr. Koetting
Since joining Virginia Eye Consultants in 2014, Dr. Koetting has become a locally and nationally known lecturer and author. With topics ranging from ocular disease, surgical co-management and neuro-optometry, she helps to educate other optometrists and their staff. Within the office Dr. Koetting serves as the Externship Program Coordinator, a program in which fourth year optometric students are able to join the clinic and assist in patient care for a semester.
Dr. Koetting is actively involved with the local, state, and national optometric association and currently serves as the president of the local Tidewater Optometric Society. Statewide she currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Virginia Optometric Association (VOA). In 2019, she was recognized with the prestigious VOA Young OD of the Year award.
Dr. Koetting grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and is a fourth generation optometrist. She and her husband, Zak, a Deputy for the VB Sheriff’s Department, both enjoy the Virginia Beach community. In free time she enjoys yoga, kayaking, running and playing cello.
