Getting to Know Dr. Mahmoud

Dr. Sarah Mahmoud is an optometrist at Virginia Eye Consultants and is focused on managing ocular disease and post-operative care. A graduate of the Kentucky College of Optometry, she completed her residency in Ocular Disease, Refractive and Ocular Surgery at Omni Eye Specialists in Baltimore before moving to Virginia to pursue her passion for optometry at Virginia Eye Consultants.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Mahmoud served as secretary of the Student Government Association and was an enthusiastic leader on the Private Practice Executive Board as well as a student ambassador for the college’s admissions department. Dr. Mahmoud is also committed to advancing the field of eye care, and has participated in ocular research with the American Academy of Optometry.

Proficient in Spanish, Dr. Mahmoud regularly dedicates her time to Remote Area Medical Clinics and is a Music Ministry volunteer at her church. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and traveling with her dog Bella. She also enjoys NFL football, playing violin and spending time with family and friends.
