Dr. Dawson is a licensed optometrist currently completing her residency at Virginia Eye Consultants. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree, graduating cum laude from The Ohio State University before receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry.

During optometry school, Dr. Dawson earned a Microcredential in Advanced Cornea and Contact Lens and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa (BSK) International Optometric Honor Society. She also participated in Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH), providing eye care to underserved communities during a service trip to Panama.

Dr. Dawson completed clinical rotations at SUNY’s Specialty Contact Lens Clinic, the Baltimore VA Medical Center, and Virginia Eye Consultants, gaining experience in scleral and rigid gas permeable contact lenses, ocular disease management, and comprehensive eye care.

As a Maryland native, Dr. Dawson enjoys spending her free time by the water, going on walks, and reading.
