Getting to Know Dr. Gigantelli
Dr. Gigantelli joins Virginia Eye Consultants after serving as an UVA Professor of Ophthalmology. He has authored more than 50 publications and been acknowledged with awards for excellence in clinical care and teaching. His practice focuses on diseases and conditions of the eyelid, socket and tear system. He has been regularly listed as a member of Best Doctors and Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors in America®.
Dr. Gigantelli earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University, completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine, and fellowship training in oculoplastic surgery at Duke University. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and American College of Surgeons. He is a recipient of the AAO Honors, Senior Honors and Distinguished Service awards.
