Getting to Know Dr. Dewundara
Dr. Samantha Dewundara is a fellowship trained, board-certified ophthalmologist at Virginia Eye Consultants. She earned an International Baccalaureate Degree with Honors and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, also with Honors from the University of Chicago. She received her medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. While in medical school, she was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society and Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS). Dr. Dewundara then pursued an Ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit. She pursued an advanced training fellowship in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma with Harvard Medical School at the Massachusetts Ear and Eye Infirmary.
Dr. Dewundara is also an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
