Getting to Know Dr. Pittner

Dr. Andrew Pittner completed his ophthalmology residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago where he served as co-chief resident in his final year. He then went on to complete a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Virginia under the direction of Dr. Peter Netland with the focus of surgical and medical management of adult and pediatric glaucoma. Dr. Pittner has authored multiple publications, including an award-winning paper that was recognized with the Beem-Fisher award of the Chicago Ophthalmological Society. His priority is excellence in patient care and clinical research.

Dr. Pittner was born and raised in a family of six in the small town of Lockport, just outside of Buffalo, NY. He is known for his positive attitude and his calm and creative approach to clinical and surgical problem solving. When Dr. Pittner is not at work, you can frequently find him with a fishing pole in his hand, hiking, camping or enjoying good conversation.
