Getting to Know Dr. Miller

Dr. Miller is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who earned his undergraduate degree summa cum laude and medical degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the West Virginia University Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences in Morgantown, West Virginia and his medical retina fellowship at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Prior to residency, he also spent a year doing research in novel retinal imaging at the top rated Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida.

He has active research interests in cataract surgery, diseases of the retina and vitreous, including diabetic retinopathy, macular diseases and age-related macular degeneration.

Before discovering his passion for ophthalmology, he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. This engineering background augmented his research with retinal imaging, deciphering innovation in vision science, and developing surgical applications.

In his free time, Dr. Miller enjoys the outdoors, particularly visiting any and all U.S. National Parks and state parks within striking distance. He enjoys sharing this love for the outdoors with his wife and two sons. He also plays disc golf (or frisbee golf) as a great way to get outside, and has played almost 300 courses across the United States.
